Next week is Schools Diversity Week, a national campaign that works to raise awareness of LGBTQI+ equality issues and support young people. The LA would usually host its annual Redbridge Pride event, but due to COVID-19, this year we will be celebrating Schools Diversity Week virtually with a range of activities your students can engage with at home.
As the lockdown continues, we know that those who may be vulnerable could be at greater risk, and so it is more important than ever that we celebrate equality and diversity in all its forms. Our pride programme this year will have a special focus on race equality with a masterclass being led by Lady Phyll, the executive director and co-founder of UK Black Pride. Lady Phyll has over 20 years’ experience as an LGBTQI+ rights activist and anti-racism campaigner. She is named as one of the top 5 people on the World Pride Power list.
